CT and MRI

Cross-sectional imaging is playing an increasing role in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant disease. The choice of techniques is expanding with the advent of faster CT and MRI for anatomical imaging and positron emission tomography for functional data. The most appropriate investigation for each body system must be selected and the advantages and disadvantages of each investigation appreciated in order to provide cost-effective management.
