Interventional radiology

Interventional radiology is a clinical speciality that utilizes image guidance to perform minimal access diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The benefits of a minimal access approach and the management of interventional patients are discussed. Examples of techniques and procedures are given of where intervention is now a front-line therapeutic option, or a valuable adjunct or alternative to surgery.
