Fractures and dislocations around the knee

Fractures of the knee can be divided into supracondylar fractures of the femur, tibial plateau fractures and patella fractures. Dislocations of the knee involve the patella or complete separation of the tibia from the femur. This review discusses the mechanism of injury, initial investigations, management options, complications and outcome for these injuries.
