RésuméCet article passe en revue l'évolution des concepts du danger de rejet du fœtus à la vision actuelle d'un rôle nécessaire de l'immunité innée dans l'implantation et de la nécessité d'une inflammation, tant pour l'adhésion que l'invasion, mais aussi pour préparer la tolérance ultérieure. Il se termine par un bref aperçu sur le rôle de la cytokine TWEAK et du complément.

This article explains why we have had to come to a central role for innate immunity rather than the threat of maternal rejection of the foetal allograft. We encompass briefly the role of inflammation in implantation, not only for invasion adhesion, but also to prepare future “tolerance”. In this context, we envisage the role of TWEAK and complement.
