Carcinoid tumors of the breast are uncommon. These lesions may be either metastatic or primary. A primary breast lesion can only be diagnosed after other, more frequent locations have been excluded. Recognizing this difference is essential when planning treatment because the therapeutic management differs between these types of lesions.
