Úlceras de Lipschütz

The association of acute vulvar ulcers and systemic symptoms was first described by Lipschütz in the early twentieth century. The etiology was originally unclear but since then many causes - infectious and otherwise - have been associated with acute vulvar ulcers. These ulcers are extremely rare and are often misdiagnosed. To illustrate this clinical entity, we present two highly similar cases that fit Lipschütz's original description. Reassurance is essential in adolescents, especially those not sexually active, while etiological study is performed. Lipschütz's ulcers usually resolve spontaneously without sequelae.
