In this paper, the penetration of uncertainties of the wind generation systems on the conventional electric network is evaluated. Wind power sources are modelled by using fuzzy sets, as to include the wind’s speed intrinsic uncertainty. The approach is based on a multi-linearized fuzzy power flow. Tests have been performed using a 16-bus real-life distribution system. Results obtained show, firstly, an interesting correlation among network topology and the spread of wind generation uncertainty; secondly, the losses have direct impact on the growth of fuzzyness; finally, the approach may be useful as assessment tool to evaluate the risk of not-accomplishment of contracts due to wind generation uncertainties. The approach can also used by the system operator in order to define the reserve necessary to guarantee the load balancing as well as an indicator of which buses are little affected by uncertainty.
