Conjunctival Epithelial Changes Induced by Cilia in Patients with Epiblepharon or Entropion

The persistent mechanical trauma by cilia in patients with epiblepharon or entropion can induce squamous metaplasia of the conjunctival epithelium. However, these conjunctival changes can be reversed by surgical correction.
