Ultrasound thermal damage to rabbit corneas after simulated phacoemulsification

Rabbit corneas showed a considerable tolerance to US damage up to 50°C. Higher thermal doses produced severe histological damage, even though corneas showed a considerable plasticity due to their regenerative capacity.
