• There is limited surgical literature published with respect to neonatal intubated enterostomy in any kind of intestinal atresia.
• We believe that intubated enterostomy is an interesting procedure to treat complex atresia having multiple benefits.
• Due to the above stated there is little experience of pediatric surgeons on regard high jejunal atresia.
• Favorable evolution of the patient and no complication.
We present the case of a newborn patient with diagnosis of proximal jejunal atresia type IIIa, complicated with volvulus due to a congenital band. An innovative and alternative procedure is proposed compared to other decompressive and functionalizing stoma techniques utilized for diversion of fecal stream. In our case a T-tube enterostomy presented multiple benefits for the patient. The advantages of the procedure used are discussed.
