Les indications chirurgicales limites dans le cancer pulmonaire non à petites cellules

Radical therapy is the treatment with the best global survival in patients with non small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Nevertheless, a late discovery of tumors makes the surgery complex, indeed practically impossible. Three different cases occur: restricted operability, which is a patient issue (cardiovascular or respiratory surgical risk). Then, doubtful resectability, which is a tumor issue (invasion of mediastinal organs). Finally, discussed surgical indications (tumor with single metastasis, tumor T4 and/or N2). Overall prognosis of these tumors is poor. Multidisciplinary meetings are fundamental and the presence of a thoracic surgeon is needed in order to take a personalized decision.
