Effects of intracerebral ventricular administration of gastrin-releasing peptide and its receptor antagonist RC-3095 on learned fear responses in the rat

▶ ICV administration of GRP (0.062, 0.30, 3.0 nmol) attenuated contextual and cued fear. ▶ RC-3095 (9.0 nmol) blocked this effect. ▶ ICV administration of GRP (0.30, 3.0 nmol) attenuated fear-potentiated startle (FPS). ▶ RC-3095 (9.0 nmol) increased basal startle amplitude without affecting FPS.
