Cellular-based modeling of oscillatory dynamics in brain networks

► Three types of cellular-based modeling are determined: Generic, Biophysical and Linking. ► Four cellular-based modeling features and their interactions are presented. ► Progress in modeling theta, gamma and sharp wave-ripple activities exists. ► Links to schizophrenia are being made using gamma rhythm mechanisms. ► More interactions are needed to further link experiments and models.
