Monopolar vs. bipolar subretinal stimulation-An in vitro study

► We stimulated rd10 retinas subretinaly using two different electrode configurations. ► We compared the monopolar and the (concentric) bipolar electrode configurations. ► We introduced a new method to assemble strength duration relationship curves. ► Action potentials were recorded from a ganglion cell during subretinal stimulation. ► We used singular value decomposition to weight the similarity of ganglion cell responses.
