Repeated assessment of larynx compound muscle action potentials using a self-sizing cuff electrode around the vagus nerve in experimental rats

► There is a lack of objective parameters of VNS in animal models for epilepsy. ► We developed a cuff electrode for combined stimulation and recording. ► VNS induces a Laryngeal muscle action potential (LCAMP). ► LCAMP is an objective electrophysiological parameter for vagus nerve activation. ► LCAMP could be of particular value in future VNS experiments.
