A model for cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) fiber length and strength formation considering temperature-radiation and N nutrient effects

► A model for simulating cotton fiber length and strength formation was developed. ► Effect of temperature-radiation was modeled as a function of photo-thermal product. ► Effect of N nutrient was modeled as a function of subtending leaf N concentration. ► The interactive effect of N nutrition and PTP are also described. ► The model well explained the observed genotypic and environmental variations.
