Hydro-ecological impact of water conservancy projects in the Haihe River Basin

► We map the water projects with high resolution remote sensing images. ► We quantitatively characterize the hydro-ecological processes of the basin. ► The controlled water conservancy projects separated the hydraulic connection. ► The projects construction result in a decreasing aquatic biological diversity. ► Changing the operation mode and removing are two optional resolving ways.
