Genetic diversity and symbiotic effectiveness of rhizobia isolated from root nodules of Phaseolus vulgaris L. grown in soils of Iran

► Rhizobia nodulating common bean in Iran have different effectiveness in plant growth and nitrogen fixation. ► Rhizobia isolated from root nodules of common bean in Iran are genetically diverse. ► Selected isolates in greenhouse experiment increased plant growth and yield under field conditions.
