Invasions in heterogeneous habitats in the presence of advection

► We study invasions from a biological reservoir to a heterogeneous habitat. ► Invasion capability and speed are investigated in the presence of advection. ► An optimal advection intensity maximizing the invasion efficiency are found. ► We contrast invasion feature with or without an Allee effect.
