A single dominant gene confers resistance to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis race 1 in West Indian Gherkin (Cucumis anguria L.) accessions

► Twenty-four West Indian Gherkin accessions were inoculated with race 1. ► The disease severity and mode of inheritance of resistance were investigated. ► Twelve and one accessions showed similar immune and high susceptible, respectively. ► The mode of resistance is single dominant.
