Sampling variability of ichthyoplankton surveys-Exploring the roles of scale and resolution on uncertainty

► We did not find evidence of scale-dependency in precision of abundance estimates among survey. ► It essential that survey design resolves the scale of the dominant physical features. ► Not having an appropriate spatial resolution in survey design may not necessarily appear as loss of precision but unreliability of estimates of uncertainty.
