Temperature-dependent enhancement of pollen tube growth observed in interspecific crosses between wild Cucumis spp. and melon (C. melo L.)

► Pollen tube growth of some incongruous cross combinations in Cucumis spp. was studied. ► Pollen tube growth of these interspecific crosses was promoted under high temperature conditions. ► Fruit set frequency was enhanced in these temperature conditions. ► 32 °C is the threshold temperature for promoting pollen tube growth.
