Irreducible products of characters of solvable groups

Isaacs conjectured that if G is solvable and α and β are faithful characters of G such that αβ is irreducible, then G is cyclic. In this paper, we shall prove that the conjecture holds if either G is an M-group or G has Fitting height at most 4.
