Skew-symmetric matrices and their principal minors

In this article, we study the following problem. Given a positive integer k  , what is the relationship between two matrices with entries in a field KK and having equal corresponding principal minors of order at most k? Our main theorem improves a result of Loewy [13] for skew-symmetric matrices all of whose off-diagonal entries are nonzero.
