Matrix representations of Sturm–Liouville problems with eigenparameter-dependent boundary conditions

We show that a class of regular self-adjoint Sturm–Liouville problems with eigenparameter-dependent boundary conditions are equivalent to a certain class of matrix problems. Equivalent here means that they have exactly the same eigenvalues.
