A note on spectra of optimal and superoptimal preconditioned matrices

In this short note, it is proved that given any positive definite Hermitian matrix, the eigenvalues of the superoptimal preconditioned matrix do not exceed the corresponding eigenvalues of the optimal preconditioned matrix.
