The purpose of this paper is to find the best cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) technique for varying body sizes. The validated blood circulation model of CPR is modified for various body sizes by the scaling law based upon principles of developmental anatomy and physiology. Optimal control techniques are applied to this model and the external chest and abdominal pressures are chosen as controls. Our goal is to discover the characteristics of optimal external chest and abdominal compression/decompression, in order to maximize the mean systemic perfusion pressure (SPP). The numerical results are given for various body weights. Optimal CPR techniques for various body weights show that a more weighted person needs a longer compression duration on the abdomen and a less weighted person needs a longer compression duration on the chest.
