Span of orthogonal sphere bundles over spheres

Our aim in this paper is to determine the span and the stable span of the total spaces of oriented sphere bundles over spheres. In many cases the span and the stable span coincide. The special case of S7S7-bundles over S8S8 is particularly interesting.
