Characterization of compact monotonically (ω-)monolithic spaces using system of retractions

We prove that a compact space is monotonically Sokolov if and only if it is monotonically ω-monolithic. This gives answers to several questions of R. Rojas-Hernández and V.V. Tkachuk.
