Uniform approximations of volume preserving homeomorphisms of Rn

In this article we show that any conservative volume preserving homeomorphism of Rn can be approximated in the uniform topology by transitive one. We also prove some results about the approximation of such homeomorphisms by dyadic permutations, proving a version of a result due to Lax.
