Characterizing metric spaces whose hyperspaces are absolute neighborhood retracts

We characterize metric spaces X whose hyperspaces X2 (or Bd(X)) of non-empty closed (bounded) subsets, endowed with the Hausdorff metric, are absolute [neighborhood] retracts.
