GPU-based discrete element simulation on flow regions of flat bottomed cylindrical hopper

The hopper flow with steady discharge could be described as nine regions. The transition flow region had the constant solid concentration. The converging flow region was characterized by particles accelerations decrease with increasing the hopper height. The vertical flow region and centripetal flow region had highest particles accelerations.
