A first attempt to investigate bending and vibration behaviors of carbon nanotube (CNT) reinforced functionally graded composite skew plates using the isogeometric analysis is performed. The formulation of the plate is based on Reddy's higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT). The effect of CNT orientation angle on the mechanical behavior of CNT-reinforced composite plates with varying skew angles is investigated. The optimum fiber orientations for CNT-reinforced composite skew plates with simply supported, clamped and cantilevered boundary conditions are found. It is shown that selecting the correct fiber orientation angle is of crucial importance in obtaining the desired static and dynamic responses of CNT-reinforced composite skew plates.
