Drilling vibration reduction via attractive ellipsoid method

► We present a time-delay model of a vertical oilwell drillstring. ► The proposed model effectively reproduces oscillations in real wells. ► We find stabilizing controllers to suppress undesirable vibrations. ► The proposed methodology is based on the attractive sets principle. ► The effectiveness of our approach is validated through simulations.
