Historical Steel Bridges in the Tisa Basin; Present Technical Condition, Functionality and Sustainable Rehabilitation

At the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, the construction of communication roads registered an important development. In this period a remarkable series of steel bridges were built, some of them being in present in operation. The paper presents the current technical condition of the bridges in the lower Tisa river basin, their current technical state and rehabilitation possibilities. Also the study and framing of the bridges structural form in the specific local sites is performed.
