► The definition of a neutrally stable strategy allows for neutral mutants. ► These can make the neutrally stable strategy unstable if they open doors for other mutants. ► Robustness against indirect invasions (RAII) excludes that possibility. ► Being RAII is equivalent to being an element of a minimal ES set. ► Being RAII implies being an element of a set that is asymptotically stable in the replicator dynamics.
