On dynamic compromise

► We study MPE of a legislative bargaining game with an endogenous status quo. ► We find that non-dictatorial outcomes are possible. ► Equilibrium is path-dependent: compromise occurs if initial shares are somewhat even. ► The equilibrium relies on discount factors being in an intermediate range. ► The range of discount factors increases with the number of legislators.
