► Paper considers platform competition for both advertisers and users. ► Platforms earn profits from advertisers although there is perfect competition. ► Profits can increase in the users' nuisance costs of advertising. ► Factors have opposing results compared to one-sided markets. ► Model explains why TV stations benefit if rivals are regulated to advertise less.
