A novel interaction study of Th(IV) and Zr(IV) with 4-sulfonatocalix[6]arene: Experimental and theoretical investigation

A systematic interaction study of the Th(IV) and Zr (IV) with flexible 4-sulfonatocalix (6) arene has been established. The complexion behaviour among the M-L has been studied on the basis of UV-Visible, florescence study. The complexation phenomenon supported by IR, NMR and DFT calculations. The 4-sulfonatocalix (6) arene have good complexing ability with the metal ions and found to promising ligand for complexation with tetravalent metal ions.95
