Potent anticancer activity of photo-activated oxo-bridged diiron(III) complexes

Oxo-bridged diiron(III) complexes have been explored for cancer-specific cytotoxicity. Complexes exploit cancer-specific condition of excess of H2O2 to show cancer selective anticancer activity through the generation of excess of ROS. Photodecaroxylation of the complexes further increased ROS concentration in the cancer cells leading to lethality.
