Enhanced photocatalytic generation of hydrogen by Pt-deposited nitrogen-doped TiO2 hierarchical nanostructures

- We fabricated Pt deposited N doped hierarchical porous nanostructured photocatalysts.
- Pt nanoparticles are well distributed on macropore walls and fibrous channel.
- N doping extends the absorption toward visible region.
- Pt-NHPT-300 shows 2-fold higher H2 evolution activity than Pt-NHPT-800 and 30% higher than Pt-HPT-300.
- Porous nanostructure and N doping increases light harvest and effective charge transfer.
