Preparation of montmorillonite@carbon composite and its application for U(VI) removal from aqueous solution

- The developed organo-montmorillonite composite enhanced adsorption of U(VI).
- The decoration of the functional carbonaceous species on MMT@C improves its sorption capacity.
- The inner-sphere surface complexation might be the primary sorption mechanism.
