Piezoresistive effects enhanced the photocatalytic properties of Cu2O/CuO nanorods

- The piezoresistive effect was used to achieve synergistic photocatalysis.
- 80 at% of Cu2O and 20 at% of CuO exhibited superior photocatalysis.
- The synergistic effect was attributed to the band gap modulation under stresses.
- The sample also demonstrated excellent stability in a photoelectrochemical cell.
