Preparation of antibacterial coating based on in situ synthesis of ZnO/SiO2 hybrid nanocomposite on cotton fabric

- In situ approach was used to synthesize ZnO/SiO2 nanocomposites.
- Spherical structure and stabilized ZnO/SiO2 hybrid nanocomposites were synthesized.
- The synthesized ZnO particles have a hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure.
- The ZnO nanoparticles enhance the moisture content of cotton fabric.
- ZnO/SiO2 loaded cotton fabrics presented a good antibacterial property.
