Towards nanopatterning by femtosecond laser ablation of pre-stretched elastomers

- We present a new approach to increase the focusing capabilities of optical systems.
- Laser patterning is performed over a stretched elastomeric membrane.
- After releasing stress, patterns shrink according to the applied strain.
- Minimum feature size is controlled by strain, enabling sub-diffraction patterning.
