Femtosecond pulsed laser deposition of cobalt ferrite thin films

► Un-doped and Gadolinium CoFe2O4 thin films were deposited; ► For targets ablation a fs laser at 1 kHz repetition rate was used; ► The influence of Gd addition on the microstructure of the thin films was analyzed; ► A comparison with the thin film deposited by ns PLD was done; ► Uniform thin films with preferential growth directions were obtained.
