Co-culture of vascular endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells by hyaluronic acid micro-pattern on titanium surface

► The parallel micro-stripes of HMW-HA are successfully prepared on TiOH surface. ► The HMW-HA stripes can effectively regulate the morphology and behavior of SMC. ► EC can be cultured along the LMW-HA from HMW-HA and regulated by SMC. ► The new EC/SMC co-culture model may be useful for studying their interactions.
