Uniform β-Co(OH)2 disc-like nanostructures prepared by low-temperature electrochemical rout as an electrode material for supercapacitors

► Low-temperature cathodic electrodeposition form cobalt nitrate bath resulted uniform cobalt hydroxide nanodiscs. ► A maximum specific capacitance of 736.5 F g−1 was achieved. ► The mechanism of Co(OH)2 electrodeposition was proposed and confirmed by CHN and FTIR analyses.
