Laser cleaning of a bronze bell

► UV laser cleaning treatment was performed on a bronze bell outdoor. ► Laser is an effective tool to remove the common compounds of alteration of bronze. ► The laser ablation threshold and efficiency of laser cleaning were assessed. ► EDXRF analysis was performed before, during and after the cleaning treatment. ► Chemical composition of the constituents of both patina and alloy was determinated.
