Preparation, characterization and electrochemical behavior of porous sphere-like α-Ni(OH)2 nanostructures

- α-Ni(OH)2 nanospheres was easily deposited from nitrate bath.
- Nitrate ions intercalation in the deposit structure was confirmed via CHN and IR analyses.
- High discharge capacity (418 mAh g−1) was observed.
- Good cycle life (3% capacity decay after 100 cycles) was observed.
